Nothing happens for a while. Then several things happen at once, usually at the worst moment.
Month 3 — small breakage
A plugin update changes something. A form stops sending, or the gallery layout breaks on mobile. Nobody notices, because nobody is checking the form.
Month 6 — performance drift
Uncompressed images accumulate, a tracking script is added, nobody removes anything. The site is now noticeably slower on a phone, and search results reflect it.

Taking over an existing site
Most maintenance clients come to us with a site someone else built, often with no documentation and sometimes with no access.
The onboarding audit
- Get you full ownership of domain, hosting, CDN and analytics — in your name, not an agency's.
- Inventory what is actually running: platform, theme, plugins, integrations, scripts.
- Find what is already broken. There is always something, and it is usually a form.
- Establish backups and monitoring before touching anything else.
- Produce an honest list: fix now, fix soon, fine to leave, and rebuild rather than patch.
The access problem
A surprising number of businesses do not control their own domain or hosting, because a previous developer registered it in their own name.
Sorting that out is the first thing we do. Until it is yours, nothing else you invest in the site is safe.

Do you maintain WordPress sites?
Yes — WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and custom builds. WordPress needs the most attention, because plugins are both its strength and its main security exposure.
What if my site gets hacked?
Under a retainer: we contain it, clean it, restore from a tested backup, close the entry point and handle the Google security review. Without one, we still help, but recovery costs considerably more than prevention.
How many content changes are included?
A monthly allowance agreed at the start — typically enough for routine updates to text, images, prices and team pages. Larger work is quoted separately so the retainer stays predictable.
Can you just do an audit rather than a retainer?
Yes. A one-off health check covering security, performance, SEO and a list of what needs fixing, with no obligation to take the retainer.
Do you host websites?
We set hosting up in your own account and manage it. We do not resell hosting, because it puts your business inside our billing relationship and that is not where it belongs.
